- Design, implementation, and maintenance of the company's storage infrastructure: Participates to the strategic planning, architectural design, and hands-on deployment of robust storage systems, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the organization while maintaining high standards of performance and security.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of storage solutions: Implement and manage advanced storage technologies and redundancy mechanisms to guarantee continuous access to data, minimizing downtime and ensuring that critical business operations are not disrupted.
- Monitor storage performance and capacity, making recommendations for improvements and upgrades as necessary: Continuously assess the performance metrics and storage capacity of existing systems, identifying potential bottlenecks and areas for enhancement, and proactively suggesting and implementing upgrades to optimize efficiency and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Work with teammates and, if necessary, suppliers, to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise to guarantee 24x7 availability of our services.
- Manage and maintain fiber optic connectivity for storage systems: installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of fiber optic networks that support storage systems, ensuring they are set up correctly and function efficiently to meet the organization's data transmission needs.
- Ensure optimal performance and low latency in data transmission: Implement best practices to maximize the speed and efficiency of data transfer across fiber optic networks, reducing latency and ensuring that data is transmitted quickly and reliably.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues promptly: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and address any issues affecting fiber optic connectivity, providing swift and effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain seamless data flow, coordinating when necessary vendors' support.
- Understanding of RedHat and Oracle Unix systems: Deliver assistance and troubleshooting for RedHat and Oracle Unix environments, addressing technical issues and ensuring the smooth operation of these critical systems within the organization.
- Perform system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and patch management: Execute administrative duties such as installing and configuring RedHat and Oracle Unix systems, managing software updates and patches, and ensuring that all systems are running efficiently and securely.
- Ensure system security and compliance with organizational policies: Collaborate with Security Team in Implementing and enforcing security measures to protect RedHat Unix systems from vulnerabilities and threats, while ensuring that all configurations and operations adhere to the organization's policies and regulatory requirements.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Administrators are responsible for deploying, configuring, and managing cloud resources. This includes setting up virtual machines, storage solutions, and networking components to meet the organization's needs.
- Security and Compliance: Ensuring the security of cloud resources is paramount. AWS administrators implement security measures such as Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, encryption, and monitoring to protect data and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Cost Management: Effective cost management is crucial in cloud environments. Administrators monitor usage, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost-saving strategies to ensure that the organization stays within budget.
- Automation and Orchestration: Automation tools and scripts are used to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency. AWS administrators leverage services like AWS CloudFormation and AWS Lambda to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
- Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Continuous monitoring of cloud resources is essential to maintain optimal performance. Administrators use tools like Amazon CloudWatch to track metrics, set up alerts, and make necessary adjustments to improve system performance.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implementing robust backup and disaster recovery plans is critical to ensure data availability and business continuity. AWS administrators configure backup solutions and test recovery procedures to minimize downtime in case of failures.
- Collaboration and Support: AWS administrators work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to support cloud initiatives and resolve issues. They provide guidance and training to ensure that the organization can effectively leverage cloud technologies.
- Understanding of storage infrastructure and fiber optic connectivity: The position holder demonstrates ability to efficiently oversee and maintain complex storage systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Base skills of RedHat Unix and Linux-based systems: Understanding and some hands-on experience with RedHat Unix, enabling the effective administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of these operating systems to support diverse IT environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues: Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities, coupled with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving intricate technical problems, minimizing downtime and maintaining system stability.
