System Solutions was elected n°1 "Best Workplace" by the “Great Place to Work Institute”.The App-V Packager IT System Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the Application Virtualization (App-V) environment within the IT infrastructure of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of virtualization technologies, particularly Microsoft's App-V platform, along with strong IT system engineering skills. Key Responsibilities:1. Application Packaging: Develop, customize, and package applications using the Microsoft App-V sequencing process. This includes analyzing application requirements, capturing installation procedures, configuring virtual environments, and ensuring compatibility with existing systems.2. Deployment Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to determine deployment strategies for virtualized applications. Assess deployment requirements, including user permissions, network configurations, and compatibility with endpoint devices.3. Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of virtualized applications to ensure functionality, performance, and compatibility with various operating systems and hardware configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues encountered during testing phases.4. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of application packaging processes, configurations, and deployment procedures. Document best practices, troubleshooting steps, and solutions for common issues to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.5. Integration and Automation: Integrate App-V with existing IT systems, such as configuration management tools, software distribution platforms, and virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI). Implement automation scripts and workflows to streamline application packaging, deployment, and maintenance tasks.6. Security and Compliance: Implement security measures to protect virtualized applications from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies related to software licensing, data protection, and IT security.7. Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance of virtualized applications by fine-tuning configurations, managing resources effectively, and implementing performance monitoring tools. Identify and address performance bottlenecks to enhance user experience and productivity.8. Incident Management: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for issues related to App-V packaged applications. Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve incidents in a timely manner and minimize disruptions to business operations.9. Capacity Planning: Monitor usage trends and resource utilization in the App-V environment to anticipate future capacity requirements. Plan and implement capacity expansion initiatives to accommodate growing application demands and user populations.10. Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in application virtualization and IT system engineering. Recommend and implement enhancements to the App-V environment to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Extensive experience with application packaging and virtualization technologies, particularly Microsoft App-V. - Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript) for automation and customization tasks. - In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related IT infrastructure components. - Familiarity with software deployment tools, version control systems, and ITIL processes. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
