
Summer UHP/UUHP - Tire Construction Engineering

Responsible for facilitating new product technology projects in the GIR process while providing tire construction engineering expertise to the project team. This is a hybrid role that requires a balance of strong project management expertise and hands-on engineering proficiency to drive projects efficiently and effectively. This is a Global role, across all Regions and for both Consumer OE and REPL product lines, within the summer UUHP portfolio.Primary Responsibilities
Construction Engineering:
- Serve as the technical lead for project teams as they work to develop new technology in the Summer/UUHP Global Technology portfolio.
- New technologies will have a focus on platforming and product cost whilst securing class-leading tire performance.
- Will also drive emerging challenges such as HLC, new manufacturing technology (in particular Dudelange) and/or emerging regulations.
- Will be data-driven, ensuring input data quality and looking at leveraging existing data.
- Provide hands-on product engineering expertise as required.
- Develop and manage GIR project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Work cross-functionally with GIR stage team to ensure alignment between project objectives and project plan.
- Identify potential roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Track project milestones and deliverables, ensuring on-time completion.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Drive knowledge, technology transfer and provide mentoring, training and coaching to the technical community.
- Drive effective deployment of the technology to the Applied teams.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline, required. Master's degree, desired.
- 6+ years of experience in the Tire Industry, required.
- Experience with Tire Construction, Tire Development and Testing, Project Management, and Mentoring/Training/Coaching, desired.
- Significant knowledge in tire construction engineering & platforming, standards & guidelines governing tire development, and data processing.
- Knowledge in V-Design Approach.
- Project Management skills & practice - MSProject skills welcome.
- Ability to make engineering designs which are cost effective & provide the highest rate of return on investment.
- Significant technical knowledge & expertise in tire production processes, equipment & facilities engineering design principles, safety & ergonomics.
