
Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor in Generative AI

- Develop and perform research in Computer Science and establish a research group
- Seek cooperation with researchers within the department and across faculties, centres, and external research institutions in Luxembourg
- Contribute to the teaching missions of the department at various levels (Bachelor, Master, PhD) and provide lectures for bachelor and master programmes
- Advise PhD candidates and contribute to doctoral and postdoctoral training (e.g., organising research seminars, reading groups, winter and summer schools)
- A PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related
- A research track record in Artificial Intelligence, with an emphasis on Generative AI and a demonstrated openness to interdisciplinary collaboration both within academia and with industry partners
- Expertise in one or more core areas of Generative AI, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), diffusion models, neurosymbolic methods, or other emerging directions within machine learning. We particularly value depth of knowledge, originality, and the potential for cross-disciplinary innovation. Relevant application areas may include (but are not limited to) natural language processing, multi-modal learning, human-computer interaction, or generative AI for science and education
- Publications in top-tier computer conferences and journals related to AI and machine learning, including but not limited to NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, JMLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, IJCV, TPAMI, ACL, EMNLP, KDD, AAAI, IJCAI, ECAI, COLT, UAI, AAMAS, AISTATS, TACL, SIGIR, WSDM, Web
- Experience in teaching Computer Science topics at undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate levels and willingness to contribute to the department's teaching and administrative missions

- Contract Type: Fixed-term contract - 5 years (tenure track), with a perspective of a permanent position and promotion to Associate Professor upon a positive evaluation. In the case of an excellent, more senior candidate, a direct appointment at the level of Associate Professor with a permanent contract may be considered.
