The role involves acting as a Director on the Boards of the Luxembourg parent companies and subsidiaries, managing the Luxembourg office, and leading a small team of experienced accountants. You will also work closely with colleagues in London and Germany, as well as external advisors, on cross-border initiatives supporting the firm's strategic goals.
This is an exciting opportunity for either an existing Director with relevant financial accounting experience seeking their next challenge, or a senior accountant ready to step up into a Director role.The Role:Accounting & Financial Administration
- Provide day-to-day accounting and related services for all Luxembourg-based entities of the group
- Act as a Director on the Boards of the Luxembourg companies, preparing for and participating in board meetings, including convening, setting agendas, and drafting minutes
- Prepare management accounts, consolidated financial statements, and other reports in accordance with Lux GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards
- Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory accounts, VAT returns, and company tax returns, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel
- Assist with the group-wide annual audit process
- Support the development and maintenance of banking and lending relationships
- Review and improve systems to increase automation and accelerate reporting processes
- Provide analyses and support on special projects, working alongside investment and legal teams
- Manage the Luxembourg office operations, including a team of two accountants
- Develop and implement systems to support growth and enhance the control environment
- Improve management reporting and information systems through regular reviews and enhancements
- Provide operational support to the senior leadership team on strategic initiatives
- University degree in accounting or equivalent professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA preferred)
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting or auditing, ideally within a real estate investment or financial services business in Luxembourg
- Prior experience in a Director role or readiness to assume such responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Lux GAAP and IFRS
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with accounting/reporting systems
- Fluency in English; French and/or German is an advantage
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, motivated, and flexible, with the ability to work both independently and within a small team
- Capable of supervising and motivating staff
- Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
