The application of machine learning and data analytics to innovative electrical power quality technologies and to reliable and efficient energy transmission supports the development of dependable grids and sustainable energy solutions, aligning with contemporary demands for robust and secure energy systems. The candidate will actively seek cooperation with researchers from within the Department, but also with researchers from other departments, faculties, and interdisciplinary centres, or external Luxembourgish research institutions.The ideal candidate will establish a globally recognized research program showcasing expertise in domains such as:

  • Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A strong track record in research, including contributions to their field and publications in top ranked journals/conference proceedings
  • Experience in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate level
  • Experience in acquiring and managing research projects
  • Ability to work in a multilingual and multicultural environment
  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Good organizational and management skills
  • Proven experience in engaging with industrial partners will be an asset.

  • Contract Type: Fixed-term contract - 5 years (tenure track), with a perspective of a permanent position and promotion to Associate Professor upon a positive evaluation. In the case of a more senior candidate, the position will be offered at the Associate Professor level. At the Associate Professor level, the position is tenured and promotion to Full Professor is possible after 5 years upon positive evaluation.
