We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine – in the lab, in the clinic and in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. We excel because we are truly interdisciplinary, and together we contribute to science and society.Your roleYou will be responsible for carrying out LC- and GC-based experiments in several research projects, which deal with the role of cellular metabolism in different iPSC-derived model systems of genetic PD. Moreover, you will be involved in cell culture maintenance and differentiation work within the framework of these projects. You will have the following tasks and accountabilities:
- Standard molecular biology (Bradford, ELISA, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry) and mitochondrial function (Seahorse technology, colorimetric dyes, enzyme kinetics with spectrophotometry etc.) assays
- Support of cell culture activities (cell lines, primary cells, iPSC maintenance and differentiation)
- Real-time PCR, sequencing, cloning of plasmids and viral constructs
- Preparation of cell extracts for metabolomic analyses and application of LC- and GC-based methods
