DESCRIPTIONAmazon is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join the ever-growing world of Amazon EU Real Estate Finance in our UK office. We are not an average retailer and this is definitely not an average finance position. We are looking for exceptional people with solid numeracy and great financial and technical skills. This role is meant to make a real difference to our business and provides you full autonomy to leverage your skills, and educational and applied work experience to direct initiatives to recognize and promote investment and cost savings opportunities within the Fulfillment Center network. In this position, you will assess investment opportunities in Real Estate and Engineering within the Amazon EU Fulfillment Centers network, to provide guidance to your Business partners. You will be responsible for investment analysis, creation of financial models, assessing alternative financing options and providing thorough data-driven recommendations. This role provides high visibility to essential business-critical processes, and will require interactions with internal stakeholders and business leaders for carrying out strategic initiatives.Key job responsibilities
  • Provide financial analysis, ROI and NPV models to support investment decisions in Real Estate, Construction, Engineering, network expansion, strategic acquisitions, and improving associates experience for EU Fulfillment Centers network.
  • Financially value concepts from incremental design improvements to fully-fledged future generation Fulfillment Centers as part of the change management process by partnering with Building and Engineering Design teams.
  • Advance Amazon's Climate Pledge sustainability goals, including reaching net-zero carbon by 2040, together with internal stakeholders and business leaders by outlining and carrying out strategic initiatives in Real Estate, Construction and Engineering.
  • Collaborate with Operations and business partners to define various process improvements, cost savings initiatives, root cause analyses and solution implementation for strategic issues.
  • Improve tools, processes, scale existing solutions, create new solutions, as required based on stakeholder needs.
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability in providing data-driven decision making and analysis as well as thinking strategically in a fast-changing environment.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Luxembourg, LUXBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or another relevant field
- Relevant experience in a finance role including partnering with a variety of stakeholders across the business
- Relevant experience in managing people
- Relevant experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL or Tableau
- Relevant experience in financial modellingPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Advanced or master's degree in finance, economics or mathematics, such as a CA, CMA, CWA or MBA
- Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- Experience working in large teams or at a national/multinational organisation
