We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine – in the lab, in the clinic and in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. - Provide legal advice and support to legal issues (which might require conducting legal research in diverse areas of law including European, research, contract, data protection, animal testing, state aid, donations and intellectual property)
- Analyse and identify legal risks as well as implications
- Draft, review, negotiate and administer various kinds of agreements, in particular research-related contracts.
- Analyse and verify potential risks, proposing solutions.
- Liaise with researchers and external lawyers/representatives of collaborating parties
- Cooperate with colleagues at different levels within LCSB and the University of Luxembourg in the areas of technology transfer, data protection, procurement, taxation, human resources, academic affairs, students’ affairs, finance, and others
- Handle legal ad hoc assignments
- Contribute to the development of the LCSB’s internal procedures and overarching projects as well as the University’s policies
- Keep abreast of all new laws and regulations that may have implications to the LCSB
- Master’s degree in law (preferably specialisation in contract/civil/IP law)
- Minimum working experience 3 years with at least 1 years in a research environment, industry experience is a plus
- Proven knowledge of the Luxembourg legal system and in contract law
- Excellent problem‐solving, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to integrate in a fast changing and very international environment
- Open minded and eager to discover different perspectives and ways of contributing to solutions
- Team player with sound interpersonal and communication skills
- Self‐driven and resourceful
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and French, German or Luxembourgish is a plus
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new things also beyond legal matters
